Before operators can implement

converged multimedia services on

networks originallybuilt for POTS,

they must first ensure that the existing

networkinfrastructure can support

the delivery of high-speed, high-

bandwidth servicesto an expanding

base of businessand residential

customers. This process, however,

must be completed quickly so as not
